McNABB NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN

FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Brooke McNabb has been named to the 2008 Daktronics-NAIA Softball Scholar Athlete team for the second time in her career. The award is given annually to juniors and seniors, nominated by their head coach, who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

BRADY, RALEY NAMED ALL-REGION VI

FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan’s Elizabeth Brady and Ariel Raley have been named to the NAIA’s All-Region VI team. Brady received 1st-team honors, while Raley was a 2nd-team selection.

LADY RAMS FALL IN RRAC TOURNAMENT

FARMER’S BRANCH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University softball season came to an end on Friday after going 1-2 in Red River Athletic Conference Tournament play on Friday. The Lady Rams suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Bacone College (30-27), then topped Texas College (6-15) 19-1, and lost a hard fought elimination game to College of the Southwest (22-23) by a score of 7-5.

LUCERO, TARRANT NAMED RRAC P.O.W.

FORT WORTH, TX: Lateah Lucero of Texas Wesleyan University earned recognition as the Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for April 21-27, while her teammate, Ashley Tarrant, captured the RRAC’s weekly pitcher award for the same dates.
