FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University men’s soccer team (4-3-1, 1-1 RRAC) picked up its first Red River Athletic Conference win with a 3-0 shutout of Bacone College (2-6, 1-1) on Saturday.
The Rams got on the board in the 10th minute when Charlie Torres found Theo Nabassi for a goal. Torres made it 2-0 at the half when he scored in the 38th minute off assists from Marcus Harris and Jorge Pineda.
Harris capped the scoring in the 69th minute on an assist from Christian Villasenor.
Texas Wesleyan’s Joakim Soderbaum made four saves in his third shutout effort of the season.
The Rams dominated play from start to finish, taking a 35-9 advantage in shots and 5-0 in corner kicks.
The Rams will return to action on Wednesday, October 1, when they travel to San Antonio, TX, to take on Our Lady of the Lake University (3-4-1). That match is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
