LOPEZ NAMED RRAC P.O.W.

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University’s Diana Lopez has been named Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the period of September 8-14.

Lopez, a freshman forward from El Paso, TX, booted in the first three goals of her collegiate career on Friday in an 8-0 trouncing of Concordia University Texas.  She came off the bench in the first half then scored all three goals within a 25-minute stretch of the second half.  The Lady Rams surged to 3-1 on the season.

Bacone College’s (OK) Michelle Gross, was named RRAC Defensive Player of the Week.

The Lady Rams will return to action on Tuesday, September 16, when they travel to Oklahoma City, OK, to take on Oklahoma City University.  That game is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start.
