LADY RAMS TAKE A PAIR ON PARENTS' DAY

October 20, 2007

FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team took a pair of matches today, defeating Jarvis Christian in three games, (30-5, 30-13, 30-8) and Texas College three games to none (30-14, 30-15, 30-19).

Liz Meng led the Lady Rams in the match against Jarvis, firing off 12 kills and adding 5 aces.  Evoni Darling tallied 28 assists in the match. Ashley Mock aced 9 serves while Kristen Venhuizen and Sandra Ayala had 6 aces apiece. Overall the Lady Rams scored 30-service aces, one ace shy of the school record set at Jarvis earlier this year.

In the game against Texas College, Sandra Ayala recorded a double-double posting 18 kills and 12 digs. Evoni Darling tallied 29 assists in the match. Mock had 14 digs, and  Venhuizen knocked down 6 kills in the win.

The Lady Rams next game will be on Tuesday, October 23. Texas Wesleyan will honor its seniors and the accomplishments they have contributed to the Lady Rams volleyball program with senior day activities. The Lady Rams will take on Southern Nazarene University at 7:00 p.m. in the Sid Richardson Center.
