AUSTIN, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer team (7-6-3, 4-1-1 RRAC) took a convincing 5-0 win at Huston-Tillotson University (2-7-1, 2-4-1) on Sunday.
Freshman forward Jayme Karl’s first collegiate goal proved to be a game-winner. Karl scored early in the first half. Loren Clark and Christina Zimmerman followed with two goal a piece.
Texas Wesleyan dominated play from the start, taking 22 shots and earning eight corner kicks in the contest.
The Lady Rams have a solid hold on second place in the Red River Athletic Conference standings at 4-1-1. Texas Wesleyan will be hosting the RRAC tournament October 27-29, at Martin Field. The Lady Rams will play their final regular season game on Saturday, October 20, when they host College of the Southwest. That game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start and will be preceded by Senior Day festivities. |
