RAMS FINISH TENTH

GOODYEAR, AZ:  The Texas Wesleyan University men’s golf team finished tenth after a final round 290 at the Grand Canyon Invitational at Estrella Mountain Ranch.

Abilene Christian won the team event on a scorecard playoff over Point Loma Nazarene.  Point Loma shot a final round of 281 to catch ACU at 843 for the tournament.

Western Washington University’s Jake Kuppenberg was 10-under par (62) in the final round to win the individual title with a 54-hole total of 200.

Paco Saracho who finished tied for 25th in the field of 90 golfers led Texas Wesleyan.  Saracho was one-under par 215 through three rounds.  Armondo Villareal and Drew Koonce both fired rounds of 71 on Tuesday.  Villareal finished one-over par for the tournament while Koonce finished at 222.

The Rams will return to action on October 22-23 at the Rattler Invitational at Pecan Valley Golf Course in San Antonio, TX.
