LADY RAMS ROMP, 6-0
September 14, 2007

Box Score

FORT WORTH, TX:  One game removed from a 6-0 defeat, The Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer team (3-4-1) took out their frustrations with a convincing 6-0 decision over St. Gregory’s University (0-3-1) at Martin Field on Friday.

The Rams dominated play from the start.  For the game they out shot the Cavaliers 27-5 and allowed just three shots on goal.

Loren Clark got things started with goals in the 9th and 18th minutes, giving the Rams a 2-0 advantage at halftime.

Freshman Jacqueline Wittman netted her first collegiate goal in the 55th minute.  Brianna McKernon knocked in two goals in a four-minute span.  McKernon converted a penalty kick in the 66th minute and then headed in Danielle Parks’ corner kick in the 70th minute.  Andrea Allmond capped the scoring with a goal off an assist from Jayme Karl in the 72nd minute.

Brittany O’Brien and Kelsey Lynd combined for three saves in the shutout victory.

“We needed that kind of offensive performance,” said head coach Josh Gibbs.  “We were finally able to finish some opportunities.”

The Lady Rams return to action on Tuesday, when they travel to Chickasha, OK, to take on the University of Science & Arts (OK).  That game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start and will be followed by a men’s game.
