FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Ashley Mock has been named Red River Athletic Conference and Region VI Libero of the Week in the first reporting period of the season.
Mock, a senior from Azle, Texas, recorded 6.75 digs per game as the Lady Rams started the season at 3-4. Mock notched 25 digs in a loss to fourth ranked Concordia University-Irvine (CA), and she posted 23 in a victory over Carroll College (Mont.). She had no receiving errors and delivered 15 service aces during the week.
The Lady Rams are currently ranked third in Region VI trailing #1 UT-Brownsville (5-3) and second ranked Oklahoma City University (7-1). John Brown Univeristy (2-2) and Lubbock Christian University (5-3) rounded out the top-five. UT-Brownsville’s Talita Milasauskas and Daianarah Bracero were named RRAC Player and Setter of the Week respectively. Lubbock Christian’s Suzanne Childress and Rachel Stuyvesant took the Region VI Player and Setter of the Week awards out of the Sooner Athletic Conference. |
