IRVINE, CA: The Texas Wesleyan University women's volleyball team (3-4) won a match in close fashion again on Saturday as the Lady Rams beat San Diego Christian in five games. The Lady Rams won the first, third, and fifth games (30-18, 30-15, 15-12), and lost the second and fourth games (27-30, 28-30).
Sandra Ayala put up big numbers with 18 kills, a career-high 28 digs, 4 blocks, and 3 aces. Liz Meng also had good numbers with 11 kills, while doubling her career-high with 28 digs, and adding 5 blocks. Erinn Miller contributed 12 kills, 4 blocks, and 2 aces, and Evoni Darling posted 45 assists in the win.
Coach Christy Clawson liked the way her Lady Rams are playing stating, "It was a good trip, we played well and we've definitely got the ability and talent to have a very good season, but we need to be much more efficient."
The Lady Rams improve to 3-4 on the season and look to add a couple to the win column in Oklahoma City, as they play Oklahoma City University and Mid-America Christian on Tuesday. They are scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start with OCU and a 5:00 p.m. start with MACU.
