FORT WORTH, TX: Three members of the Red River Athletic Conference Champion Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer team have been selected to the NAIA’s All-Region VI team.
Heather Fowler was named to the 1st-team. Fowler, a senior captain from Leander, TX, earned All-Red River Athletic Conference honors for the fourth time in her career this year. This season, she ranked 25th nationally in goals per game and 27th in points per game with 11 goals and 27 points in 16 games.
Brianna McKernon was named to the 2nd-team. A sophomore from Mansfield, TX, McKernon is a two-time All-RRAC selection. This season she led the team and ranked 16th nationally in goals per game and 25th in points per game with 13 goals and 29 points in 17 games played.
Nicole Richardson joined McKernon on the 2nd-team. Richardson, a senior from Mansfield, TX, was twice named to the All-RRAC 1st-team in her career. This season she ranked third on the team in goals (6) and points (15) while helping lead the team to its second straight conference championship.
The 2006 Lady Rams won their second consecutive RRAC Championship and advanced to the Region VI Tournament for the second time in program history. The Lady Rams finished with a record of 9-8 overall and 5-1 in conference play. |
