FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University freshman Jennifer Irwin has been named both Red River Athletic Conference and Region VI volleyball Setter of the Week for the period of October 9-15.
It was the first such award for Irwin, a freshman setter from Colleyville, Texas, who averaged 14.3 assists per game in a 1-1 week for the Lady Rams. Against College of the Southwest, she recorded career-highs for assists (76) and digs (26). She also racked up 24 assists in a 3-0 victory over Huston-Tillotson University (Texas).
Texas Wesleyan’s record now stands at 4-2 in the conference and 14-7 overall. The Lady Rams are back in action on Friday when they host Jarvis Christian College. That RRAC match is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. in the Sid Richardson Center.
