DENTON, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer team (0-2) suffered a 4-0 loss at the hands of West Texas A&M University (5-0) on Sunday.
West Texas, which is off to a blazing 5-0 start on the season, wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Sarit Shenar netted an unassisted goal in the fifth minute of the contest.
While only 12 fouls were called between the two teams, four cards were handed out including three in the first 20 minutes. Shannah Bohon picked up a yellow card at 18:00, and Heather Fowler followed with a red card at 19:16. Shenar converted the ensuing penalty kick for her second goal of the day, and the Buffalo took a 3-0 lead to halftime after Kendal Kitchens scored in the 27th minute.
In the second half, Shenar was once again in the middle of the action when she fed Megan Szydloski for the fourth and final Buffalo goal.
The Lady Rams will look to get into the win column on Saturday, September 9, when they travel to Edmond, OK, to take on the University of Central Oklahoma. That match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. |
