OKLAHOMA CITY, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University men’s and women’s soccer teams traveled to Oklahoma today to take on Oklahoma City University. Unfortunately lightning ended the competition midway through the women’s match. The games will be rescheduled although no date has yet been set.
The Lady Stars, ranked 21st in the country, took a 1-0 lead when Whitney Ward scored off a corner kick from Erika Garbrecht with 15 minutes to play in the first half. However, the match was later postponed by lightning.
Both games will be rescheduled although no date has been set. The Lady Rams return to action on September 2, when they travel to Denton, TX, to take on Texas Woman’s University. That match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. The men’s team will be back in action on September 4, when they host Maryville University at Martin Field. That match is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. |
