FRAZIER SELECTED TO NORTHWOODS ALL-STAR GAME
July 9, 2007

WAUSAU, WI:  Texas Wesleyan University’s Brandon Frazier has been selected to the Northwoods League All-Star Game.  Frazier, a 6’0” centerfielder from Burleson, TX, will represent his Wisconsin Woodchucks on the South Division team.  The Northwoods League is one of the nation’s most prestigious college summer baseball leagues.

Frazier is batting .308 with a league-leading three triples and a team-leading 10 stolen bases with the Woodchucks.  He also holds an on base percentage of .396.

The 2007 Northwoods League All-Star Game will be hosted by the North Division on Wednesday, July 11, in Mankato, MN.  The game will be broadcast live on ESPN360.com and will re-air late night on July 11 at 12:30 a.m. on ESPNU.  The game is all scheduled to replay on ESPNU on Friday, July 13, at 8:00 p.m.

In three seasons at Texas Wesleyan, Frazier has hit .380, scored 122 runs, stolen 53 bases, and twice been named All-Red River Athletic Conference.

Frazier is not the only Ram excelling in collegiate summer leagues this season.  Taylor Miller, a first baseman from Fort Worth, TX, has hit a league leading three home runs for the Athletes in Action Fire of the Alaska Baseball League.  Hayden Lackey (RHP, Duncanville, TX) has a 1.50 ERA while Aaron Lenz (RHP, Round Rock, TX) has a 3.38 ERA for the Fort Collins Foxes of the Mountain Collegiate Baseball League.  Aaron Wimpee has also made two appearances in the MCBL for the Parker Express.  Josh Vander Hey (C, Cypress, TX) is hitting .279 with five doubles for the Mineral Wells Steam in the Texas Collegiate League.  Ryan Jacobi (OF, Mansfield, TX) has started 25-of-26 games with the Niagra Power of the New York Collegiate Baseball League.

The Rams posted one of the best season’s in school history with a 41-10 record in 2007.  That marks the program’s highest win total since 1980 and the lowest loss total since 1973.  They were ranked as high as 8th nationally and won their first Red River Athletic Conference Championship.  They were ranked 13th in the final regular season poll and reached the Region VI final.
