FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Ariel Raley and Brooke McNabb have been selected to the NAIA All-Region VI softball team. Raley was a 1st-team selection while McNabb earned 2nd-team honors. Both student-athletes were 1st-team All-Red River Athletic Conference selections as well.
Raley, a junior third baseman from Crowley, TX, led the team in batting average (.381), runs (37), hits (67), triples (3), home runs (8), runs batted in (40), total bases (103), slugging (.585), while making just 11 errors in 126 chances at third base.
Starting in all 56 contests, Raley recorded 21 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI games. She also hit safely in 45 of 56 games including a season-high 11-game hitting streak.
McNabb, a junior first baseman from Fort Worth, TX, ranked third on the squad with a .307 AVG while pounding out 54 hits including 14 extra-base hits. She ranked second on the team with 13 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games.
The Lady Rams finished the 2007 season with a 22-34 overall record and a 12-12 RRAC mark. As the fifth seed in the RRAC Tournament, they placed third, reaching the semifinals for the second time in head coach Shannon Gower’s three-year tenure.
