FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University head volleyball coach Christy Clawson announced today the signing of Evoni Darling, a 5’7” setter from Colleyville Heritage High School.
Darling was a two-time captain and two-time Team MVP for coach Libby Torres at CHHS. She earned 2nd-team All-District and Academic All-District honors as a junior. In her senior year she was named 1st-team All-District and Academic All-State.
Darling also played for coach John Sample for Texas Advantage Volleyball’s Asics (Top 18).
“Evoni is an outstanding student-athlete,” says coach Clawson. “She is a hard worker and very talented setter and defensive player. With her and the other six incoming freshman we will be more versatile in 2007 with depth in every position.”
Darling is the daughter of David and Every Darling and is originally from Tucson, AZ.
The Lady Rams went 20-10 overall last season and have reached the NAIA’s Elite-Eight in two of the last three seasons. |
