RAMS RALLY FOR SIXTH

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK:  The Texas Wesleyan University golf team shot 284 and 287 in the final two rounds at the 2007 Sleep Inn & Suites Classic at River Oaks Country Club to take sixth place on Tuesday.

After a disappointing opening round of 300, Texas Wesleyan shot much better in the final two rounds to improve two positions.

Although Wayland Baptist out shot the hosting Oklahoma Christian University Eagles in two of the three rounds, OC fired a remarkable 20-under par 264 in the second round to win the tournament by 19 strokes with a final card of 830.

The Eagles’ Bruno Buccolo shot 68, 64, 66-198 to take the individual title.

Ryan Stephens finished in a tie for 17th at 216 to lead the Rams.  Justin Smith shot 217 to tie for 19th, and Kevin Doskocil shot 218 to finish 24th.  Dan Hahn finished tied for 34th at 222, while Mitch Hendon finished tied for 44th at 225.

The Rams will return to action at the Oklahoma City University Spring Classic at Quail Creek April 16-17.
