RAMS FINISH 6th AT STEELE CANYON

SAN DIEGO, CA:  The Texas Wesleyan University men’s golf team shot a final round 296 to hold onto sixth place at the Point Loma/Smee Builders Invitational at Steele Canyon Golf Course on Tuesday.

Wayland Baptist pulled away from CSU-Stanislaus with a final round 292 to take the team title with an overall score of 874.  CSUS’s Eric Justesen won the individual title by two shots over his teammate Andy Moren with a card of 213.

The Rams 296 on Tuesday put them at 901 for the tournament.  Texas Wesleyan’s Ryan Stephens finished in a tie for fourth overall at 219, while Mitch Hendon cracked the top-10 at 221.  Kevin Doskocil finished tied for 26th (227), Dan Hahn tied for 45th (234), and Justin Smith tie for 55th (237) to round out the Rams’ card.

The Rams return to action when they host the UST Texas Intercollegiate at Hawks Creek in Fort Worth, TX, March 19-20.
