RAMS MOVE TO 2-0
November 5, 2005

WAXAHACHIE, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University men’s basketball team improved to 2-0 with a 99-68 win over Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday.

The Rams snagged a 43-34 lead at halftime after shooting 51 percent.  In the second half the Rams really cought fire as they made 20-of-28 from the field, and ran away with the 99-68 win.

On the game, Texas Wesleyan out shot Kansas Wesleyan 60.7-41.4%.  The Rams also won the battle of the boards 36-27.  The Rams defense also caused 34 turnovers.

Five Rams reached double-figures in scoring.  Ben Hunt led the team with 17 points.  Evan Patterson added 15, Scott Reasoner 13 and CJ Higginbotham 12.  Nino Etienne just missed a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 9 rebounds.

Kansas Wesleyan’s Huey Hackett led all scorers with 21 points, while Anthony Smith added 15.

The Rams will return to action when they host third ranked Oklahoma Christian University on Tuesday.  That game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Sid Richardson Center.
