DALLAS, TX:  The Red River Athletic Conference announced today that Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer player Mayra Torres has been named Co-Player of the Week.  Torres shares the honor with Sunny Evans of College of the Southwest.

Torres, a freshman midfielder from Duncanville, TX, posted four assists in a 2-0 week for the Lady Rams. She assisted on both of Texas Wesleyan’s goals in a 2-1 win over East Texas Baptist University, and she added a pair of assists to knock off Texas College, 5-0 in RRAC action. The Texas Wesleyan women’s team moved to 2-0 in the RRAC and 7-3 on the season.

Torres ranks second on the squad with six assists and fifth with 10 points (2 goals, 6 assists).

The Lady Rams return to action on Thursday, October 6, when they travel to Muskogee, OK, to take on Bacone College in RRAC action.  That game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
