DUNCAN, OK:  The Texas Wesleyan University golf team placed second amongst thirteen teams at The Territory Classic, hosted by Cameron University at the Territory Golf Club near Duncan, OK.  The only NAIA team in the field, the Rams held a five stroke lead after Monday’s first round, but St. Edward’s came back to take the team title in Tuesday’s final round.

St. Edward’s Tyler Duncan overcame a first round 75 to match a tournament low 68 on Tuesday.  That was enough to lead the Hilltoppers (585) past the Rams who finished with a team score of 590.

Northeastern's Brian Ward took the individual title.  Ward followed his even-par opening round with a 69 on Tuesday to finish with a three-under total of 141. Lance Vasquez led Texas Wesleyan and finished in a tie for second with Duncan with a 36-hole card of 143.

The Ram’s Kevin Doskocil joined Vasquez in the top-ten with a score of 145, which was good for sixth place.  Vasquez, Doskocil, and Justin Smith all shot under par and finished in the top-four on Monday to give Wesleyan the first round lead.  Smith finished 14th with a 149.  Dan Hahn (153) and Bronson Kalilikane (155) rounded out the Ram’s top-five placing 28th and 35th respectively.

The Ram’s will return to action October 2-4 when they travel to Phoenix, AZ, for the Grand Canyon Classic at Estrella Mountain Ranch.
