     DALLAS, Texas -
The Texas Wesleyan men's soccer team broke the school record for goals in a game, defeating Dallas Christian, 23-0, Tuesday afternoon.

The 23 goals broke the previous held by the 1989 Ram squad who defeated Schreiner College, 17-0.

"The guys worked hard today," head coach Steve Jones. "In a game that got out of hand, our guys stayed focus and worked on the things that they needed to."

Texas Wesleyan (7-4) tallied 13 goals in the first half off of 30 shots. Freshman Christian Villasenor led the rams with four goals, while sophomore Travis Mauldin and freshman Mark Puente added three goals each.

In the second half, most of the Texas Wesleyan reserves saw action. Sophomores Alfonso Govea and Rene Mercado each had three goals, with Gerardo Avelar adding two goals.

The Rams will be back in action Saturday, when they host College of the Southwest at 2 p.m.
