FORT WORTH, Texas - Behind 11 Ram
hits - and 11 Bulldog errors - the Rams (31-18-1, 15-9 RRAC) outlasted
Jarvis Christian College 14-9 in Tuesday's series finale at Sycamore
Park in Fort Worth.
After two scoreless innings to start the game,
Jarvis jumped out in front of the Rams in the third inning with
a pair of runs on two hits. The Rams countered with six in the bottom
of the inning, but surrendered the lead by allowing four runs, tying
the score in the top of the fourth.
Wesleyan scored a single run in the bottom of the
fourth to take a 7-6 lead, but it too was short lived. Bryant Wilson
replaced starter Carlos Medina on the mound, and allowed a pair
of runs to give Jarvis Christian the lead at 8-7.
The Rams took the lead for good in the bottom of
the fifth, scoring four times on five hits, including a pair of
doubles, to go up 11-8. Wesleyan scored once in each of their next
three at bats, and the Bulldogs added their final run in the top
of the ninth, toend the scoring.
Bryant Wilson picks up the win for Wesleyan, giving
up a pair of runs on four hits, walking two and striking out three.
James Word takes the loss for Jarvis Christian.
The Rams now stand at 31-18-1 on the season, and
improve to 15-9 in conference play. They take on Houston Baptist
this weekend in a three-game series at LaGrave Field. Game 1 is
on Friday night at 6:30 PM, and Saturday's doubleheader begins at
