OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Texas Wesleyan University Wesleyan golf team captured its second straight Red River Athletic Conference Golf Championship Tuesday afternoon at the Quail Creek Golf and Country Club. The Rams also finished third in the NAIA Region VI Tournament that ran concurrently.

Texas Wesleyan (294-303-313-910) distanced themselves from the conference field after day one and ended up running away with the title during the final round. Northwood (317-313-321-951) finished in second place in conference play.

"We failed to execute the entire tournament," head coach Kevin Millikan said. "We have to play smart and save shots in order to compete. We need to improve on these things if we want to compete at Nationals."

Sophomore Scott Sikes (70-79-73-222) led the Rams, finishing in fifth place. Senior Justin Ward (73-75-77-225) also performed well, finishing in sixth place.
