DALLAS, Texas - Texas Wesleyan
junior Travis Clifford was named Red River Athletic Conference player
of the week by the conference office on Tuesday.
Clifford, a junior first baseman from Grand
Saline, Texas, pounded three homers and nine RBIs in a 3-2 week
for Wesleyan. He was 10-for-19 at the plate with five runs scored
and three doubles. Clifford was 3-for-5 with four RBI in an 11-3
win to cap a three-game series sweep against Southwestern Assemblies
of God University (Texas), and he was 3-for-4 with two runs scored
in an 11-9 loss to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas).
Clifford's current hitting streak stands at 16 games. The Rams are
now 25-12 on the season and 8-1 in conference play.
The Rams will be back in action Tuesday
when they host Southern Arkansas. First pitch for the doubleheader
is set for 1 p.m. at LaGrave Field.
