     FORT WORTH, Texas -
Freshman Jessica Bancroft's walk-off single in the second game of a doubleheader led Texas Wesleyan to a split with Midland Lutheran, Saturday afternoon at Sycamore Park. The Lady Rams fell in the first game, 6-4, but stormed back in the second game to win, 8-7.

In the second game, the Lady Warriors again got started early, scoring a run in the first inning off of Lady Ram starting pitcher Devin Blew.

Texas Wesleyan (18-9) tied the game at 1-1, in the bottom of the first inning as shortstop Vanessa Urteaga scored an unearned run to knot the score.

Midland Lutheran tacked on four more runs in the second inning and a run in each the third and fourth innings to run the score to 7-1.

The Lady Rams pushed across a run in the fourth inning as designated player Marie Stone singled home leftfielder Danah Merck.

In the fifth inning, third baseman Ariel Raley deposited a Lady Warrior pitch over the left-field fence for a two-run home run. Pitcher Tara Sharp scored on the play after reaching base with a one-out single. The blast cut the lead to 7-4.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Wesleyan rallied for three runs to tie the score. Bancroft's ground ball to the second baseman was mishandled and Blew and Stone scored to cut the lead to 7-6. After an errant throw by the Lady Warrior's third baseman, Urteaga singled home Bancroft to tie the game.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Bancroft laced a shot past a diving third baseman to score catcher Rachel Hampton and give the Lady Rams the victory.

Midland Lutheran opened the scoring in the first game in the first inning, scoring two runs off of Lady Ram starting pitcher Rachel Lamont.

The Lady Warriors added an unearned run in the third inning to make the score, 3-0.

Texas Wesleyan fought back, scoring four runs in the fourth inning. Bancroft doubled home two runs, Sharp single home a run and Urteaga produced a RBI-groundout to give the Lady Rams a 4-3 advantage.

Midland Lutheran answered with three runs in the fifth inning to take a commanding 6-4 lead.
Lamont suffered the loss for the Lady Rams, allowing six runs on 10 hits, while walking three walks and striking out one batter in 4.2 innings of work.

Texas Wesleyan will be back in action Wednesday when it travels to take on conference-rival Northwood in Cedar Hill, Texas. The doubleheader is set to begin at 2 p.m.
