DURANT, Okla. - The Texas
Wesleyan men's golf team fired a closing-round 304 to finish in fifth place in
The Territory Classic Tuesday afternoon at the Territory Club. "What
a great week for Dan Hahn," head coach Kevin Millikan said. "He played
solid in both rounds and worked really hard. He truly deserves his finish, because
of all of the time he has put in this season." Sophomore
Dan Hahn (72-72-144) continued his impressive play, leading the Rams with an even-par
round. The Denver, Colo. Native, finished in a tie for fifth place in the tournament.
Also competing for the Rams were sophomore Justin
Smith (79-71-150) who finished in 18th place, senior Euan McIntosh (75-80-155)
who finished tied for 33rd, junior Reino Deetlefs (76-81-157) who finished tied
for 44th and sophomore Scott Sikes (75-84-159) who finished tied for 51st.
"The conditions yesterday were windy and
cold," Millikan said. "Justin (Smith) and Dan really stayed focused
and earned their spot through adverse conditions. As a team we just are not getting
it done. We have given up early leads in the first round and have not been able
to close the gaps." The Rams will be
back in action on when they take part in the River Oaks Intercollegiate in Oklahoma
City, Okla. on March 28-29.
