FORT WORTH, Texas - The
Texas Wesleyan golf team fought through a very windy day to finish in fourth place
after the first two rounds of play at the UST Texas Intercollegiate Monday afternoon
at Hawk's Creek Golf Club.
Texas Wesleyan (292-296-584) is 12 shot behind
the leaders, Oklahoma Christian (284-292-576) and TCU Junior Varsity (285-291-576).
The Rams' Reino Deetlefs (70-72-142) is tied
for second place with TCU's Drew Lanning (70-72-142), and the duo is just one
shot behind Oklahoma Christian's Juan Lizzaarralde (69-72-141) who is three-under
par. Also competing for Texas Wesleyan were
sophomore Dan Hahn (73-75-148) who is tied for 14th, sophomore Scott Sikes (77-75-152)
who is tied for 29th, junior Blake Sullivan (78-74-152) who is also tied for 29th
and senior Justin Ward (72-83-155) who is tied for 42nd. Texas
Wesleyan also placed a junior varsity team in the tournament, and they are in
fourth place, just 10 shots behind the varsity team. Senior
Euan McIntosh (72-76-148) leads the team finishing the day tied for 14th.
The Rams will be back in action on Tuesday when
they play the final round of the UST Texas Intercollegiate. The first group will
tee off, beginning at 8 a.m.
