FORT WORTH, Texas - The Texas
Wesleyan baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to #2
Oklahoma City University Wednesday afternoon at LaGrave Field. The
Stars shutout the Rams in the first game, 6-0, and then held off
Texas Wesleyan in the second, 5-4.
Texas Wesleyan (5-4) and starting pitcher
Jason Hopson (2-1) held the Stars in check for the first four innings,
before they scored a run in the fifth inning, four runs in the sixth
inning and another run in the seventh inning.
The Rams put six hits on the board but
left eight runners on base as they were shutout for the first time
this season.
In the second game, Oklahoma City (6-0)
jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first five innings, before Wesleyan
pushed two runs across in the bottom of the fifth inning and two
more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Rams left the
bases loaded to end the game.
The Rams will be back in action Sunday
when they host Wayland Baptist. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at
LaGrave Field.
